Introduction

Team MEM is the name of a tricking/extreme martial arts group located in Norway. Founded by Mads Risberg, Morten Risberg, and Eirik Thingstad Lundstein, the group was formed to continue and further pursue the passion and love for tricking and stuntwork. Over the past few years several people have come and gone from the MEM family, but currently the team conmprises of the three original founders and Marianne Bekken, Lasse Huldt Pedersen, and Kristoffer Pettersen.

Their first samplers came out in 2003-2004 but the exact date of when the team was formed is unknown. In the early days, their training was mostly influenced by gymnastics and acrobatics. But after a little while they got more interested in tricking and extreme martial arts. Recently they have started doing performances and shows, combining their tricks and stunts with choreography.

If you are new to tricking and want to know what it is, it can best be described as "an aesthetic blend of flips, twists, and kicks". It is not a specific martial art, since it combines advanced techniques from different martial arts (Taekwondo, Karate, Wushu/Kungfu, and Capoeira) with acrobatics. Therefore this new sport can be seen as only being a part of martial arts.
